History of the University
The University of Rajasthan is a public and state university and one of the oldest universities in the Indian state Rajasthan, located in the city Jaipur. It was set up on 8 January 1947 as the University of Rajputana and was given its current name in the year 1956.
The University provides world-class higher education in various disciplines. Over the years, the University has redefined its role by taking a lead in the pursuit of higher education, research, and pushing the boundaries of knowledge. The lush green campus is spread over a wide area and boasts modern infrastructure.
